France’s Total posted a 4% decrease in Q1 2019 profit even though its production rose by 9%.Total recorded an adjusted net profit of US $2.8 Bn for Q1 2019,a 4% decrease compared to $2.9 Bn in Q1 2018.Total’s chairman and CEO Patrick Pouyanne said:”Markets remained volatile with Brent averaging $63/b in the first quarter,down 6% from last year,while natural gas prices were down 11% in Europe and 30% in Asia.Adjusted net income was $2.8 Bn this quarter,down 4%,and return on equity held steady at 12% this quarter.
