Wellesley’s Norway duster

Wellesley Petroleum is completing exploration well 25/1-13 in Production Licence 871 (PL 871) offshore Norway as a dry hole. The well was drilled 20km north of the Vilje field and 220km northwest of Stavanger. The objective of the well was to prove petroleum in reservoir rocks in the Eocene (the Frigg formation). This is the first exploration well in PL 871, which was awarded in APA2016.
