CGG scoops Equinor deal

Norway’s Equinor has handed a seismic data processing contract to Subsurface Image, a unit of CGG’s Geoscience division. The work scope includes the processing of seismic data from the Johan Sverdrup Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) system in the Norwegian North Sea. In 2017, Equinor (then Statoil) awarded Alcatel Submarine Networks a contract for the supply of PRM on the Johan Sverdrup field. CGG at the time said that the seismic technology-a potential digital enabler for the field-would be a key contributor to delivering on Johan Sverdrup’s 70% recovery target.
