Sao Tome and Principe and Equatorial Guinea have agreed to establish a Special Zone for Joint Exploration to explore and develop cross-border oil and gas reserves in each country’s maritime zone. The African Energy Chamber said ministers from both countries discussed plans to fast track joint exploration efforts in the blocks within their maritime zone, and expects operations to start as early as October 2020.
