Pertamina to Forgo East Kalimantan Block

Indonesia’s state-run company Pertamina is unlikely to take on the East Kalimantan Block when the production-sharing contract (PSC) expires in 2018 as it will not be economic to develop, a company official has said. East Kalimantan, now operated by US major Chevron, is one of eight blocks whose contracts expire next year and which the government had planned to hand over to Pertamina.
