Private Equity Seeks to Put Energy Capital to Work

The amount of private capital in the natural resources sector jumped 12% to a record $455 billion in the six months to June 2016, with energy accounting for 79% - or $362 billion - of that total, according to alternative investment data firm Preqin. But the pace of fundraising slowed as management teams struggled to deploy billions of dollars of unused investments in a challenging and competitive deal environment.
