Gazprom Inks Gas Deal with Uzbekistan

Russia's Gazprom on Wednesday signed a five-year contract to buy 4 billion cubic meters per year of gas from Uzbekistan starting in 2018, as Moscow continues to strengthen ties with the Central Asian republic. The volume is similar to the current contract but Gazprom has agreed to adjust the price formula, a source close to the company told International Oil Daily, without elaborating. Gazprom bought 6.24 Bcm from Uzbekistan in 2016 and anticipates taking 5 Bcm this year, according to company data.
