Sonangol, Exxon Ink Exploration Pact

Sonangol and Exxon Mobil signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday in Luanda formalizing their ongoing negotiations for the development of three new frontier oil blocks in Angola's southern Namibe Basin. With production flagging in recent years, Angola is courting a raft of oil majors, from Exxon to the UK's BP, Italy's Eni and Norway's Equinor, in a bid to tap into the global revival in exploration (EC Nov.30'18).
