A steady flow of refurbishment projects at UAE-based shipbuilder Lamprell's shipyards indicates a positive trend for rig fabricators as clients look to de-stack rigs and renovate them prior to redeployment, the company said Wednesday. In a trading update, Lamprell said that although the market environment "remains highly competitive," tendering activity has significantly increased so far in 2018. It is bidding for a number of major opportunities in its target markets of oil and gas and renewables.
