BP Lauds Rhum Exemption

BP CEO Bob Dudley has welcomed an exemption to sanctions issued by the US for the part Iranian-owned Rhum gas field in the UK North Sea (IOD Oct.10’18).According to Dudley,the field - which supplies up to 5% of the UK’s gas demand - was within a week of shutting down if Serica and BP had not been granted a new license by the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (Ofac) that allowed operations to continue.
