Qatar Petroleum (QP) has signed a deal to supply Chinese firm Oriental Energy with 600,000 metric tons/yr of LPG for a period of five years. The deal underpins Qatar Petroleum's efforts to increase its customer base in China, CEO Saad Sherida al-Kaabi said in a statement. The Chinese LPG market is growing, driven by demand in the domestic and petrochemicals sector. The contract begins in January 2019. Oriental Energy has the largest LPG distribution network and storage facilities in China, as well as five LPG importing terminals along with several petrochemical facilities.
