Gazprom Gas Export Growth Accelerates

As the end of summer nears, Russian pipeline gas exports to Europe are showing accelerated growth as buyers prepare for colder weather. From the start of this year to Sep. 15, Russian gas exports to Europe, including Turkey, totaled 141.3 Bcm, up 5.8% on the year, state-run pipeline gas export monopoly Gazprom said Monday. This means that in the first half of September, Gazprom exported some 8 Bcm to its key overseas market, up around 8% from the same period last year, International Oil Daily calculates, and up from about 4% growth in August.
