Saudi Aramco on Wednesday signed a preliminary pact with a group of Indian state-owned refiners to buy a 50% stake in a planned large-scale refinery and petrochemical complex on India’s west coast. The move is aimed at securing a stable outlet for and adding value to the Opec member’s crude at a time when the battle for oil market share in Asia is intensifying (IOD Oct.10’17).
