Petronas has signed a commercial settlement with Sarawak that will enable the East Malaysian state to play a more active role in the development of its resources. Relations with Sarawak are important for Petronas because Bintulu LNG, with a production capacity of 30 million tons of LNG per year, is located in the state which has an estimated 50 trillion cubic feet of gas resources.
