Exxon Adopts First Significant Emissions Targets

Exxon Mobil has adopted its first-ever comprehensive greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets through 2025, but is shunning aspirations to achieve net-zero emissions or address the emissions of its products. The US major said Monday that it will reduce the GHG emissions intensity of its operated upstream portfolio by 15%-20% by mid-decade against a 2016 baseline and adopt a variety of methane and flaring-based targets.
