The International Energy Agency (IEA) has lowered its projections for oil demand growth this year and next, noting that the coronavirus pandemic has caused global demand to drift back to where it stood in 2013. In its latest monthly Oil Market Report, the IEA pegs demand in the second half of this year 400,000 barrels per day below the estimate it published last month (IOD Aug.13’20). That puts the average for the whole of 2020 at 91.7 million b/d.
