Gazprom Loses Market Share in Turkey to Azeris, LNG

Gazprom keeps losing market share in Turkey — once its second-largest export destination — as Ankara steps up its gas imports from Azerbaijan and from LNG suppliers. The Russian gas giant’s share of Turkey’s imports fell to just 9.9% in March from 32.6% in the same month of last year, according to data from the Turkish energy market regulator. Gazprom holds a monopoly over pipeline gas exports from Russia.
