Petronas, Sarawak Dispute Lingers

Petronas is negotiating a final agreement with the Malaysian state of Sarawak to put an end to a two-year legal dispute which reportedly played a role in the departure of Petronas CEO Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin (IOD Jun.9’20). Petronas and Sarawak have been disagreeing over the ownership of oil and gas assets and the taxation of petroleum products in the East Malaysian state, which is home to an estimated 50 Tcf of gas resources.
