US Senators Issue Nord Stream 2 Ultimatum

Two US senators have told Switzerland's Allseas Group to stop working on the Gazprom-led Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to Germany or face “crushing and potentially fatal legal and economic sanctions." In a letter to the company's CEO dated Dec. 18, Republican Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin told the pipe-laying contractor that it is vulnerable to tough new sanctions as soon as US President Donald Trump signs the National Defense Authorization Act.
