CNPC Still Likes South Pars 11

China’s CNPC has no intention of withdrawing from Iran’s giant South Pars Phase 11 gas project but it is not currently moving forward with it because of US sanctions against the Islamic republic, people familiar with the matter say (IOD Feb.7’19). CNPC took over the 50.1% stake originally held by Total after the French major withdrew from the $4.8 billion scheme last year because of US sanctions pressure.
