Far Seeks Funds for Senegal

Australian junior oil company Far, which is in arbitration with fellow Australian player Woodside over the Sangomar oil project offshore Senegal, has launched a $550 million fundraiser, reducing the risk of a delay to the development. The partners are scrambling to meet the deadline for the $4.2 billion project, operated by Woodside, which is due to be sanctioned before year-end (IOD Dec.4’19). In the summer, Woodside CEO Peter Coleman said that Far’s lawsuit was “an issue” for project financiers that Far had caused.
