Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has postponed the Apr. 18 presidential elections and said he will not seek a fifth term in office. The move is likely to temper strike action in the Opec country, including in its oil and gas sector, as unions representing oil and gas workers had begun to break away from backing the government in Algiers (IOD Mar.5’19).
