LNG at Center of Russia’s Enhanced Arctic Plans

Russia is raising its Arctic ambitions, with LNG production and cargo transportation at the center of its plans. Cargo transportation via the Northern Sea Route (NSR) in the Arctic seas can be increased to 92.6 million tons per year by 2024, Alexei Likhachev, CEO of state-run Rosatom, the operator of NSR infrastructure, told the Arctic Forum in St. Petersburg on Tuesday.
