China’s central government has released more crude oil import quotas for private small-sized refineries, also known as teapots, industry sources told Energy Intelligence. The Ministry of Commerce has decided to add 4.31 million tons (588,000 bbl) of crude import quotas for seven teapots so that the total crude import quotas of the first batch for this year will reach 94.15 million tons (12.84 million bbl), according to a government statement seen by Energy Intelligence (IOD Jan.3’19).
