Lawyers representing the government of Venezuela opposition leader Juan Guaido are arguing that a $1.2 billion judgment awarding disputed refiner Citgo’s assets to a Canadian miner has “endangered US foreign policy." In a filing Wednesday to the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, lawyers with the firm Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer outlined their plan for insulating Citgo from a raft of legal actions that threatens to sell off the Venezuela’s most valuable overseas oil and gas asset.
