Frelimo Wins Tainted Election

After widespread abuses, Mozambique’s ruling Frelimo party is set for a sweeping victory in national elections. Ballot stuffing, voter intimidation and restrictions on independent observers are expected to deliver around 75% of the vote to President Felipe Nyusi and a two-thirds majority in parliament for Frelimo. The main opposition Renamo party was meeting Monday to consider its response.
