Denmark plans to build an artificial island that will receive power from gigantic offshore wind farms of up to 10 GW in capacity, dwarfing anything currently operational by a factor of five. The project could cost up to 300 billion kroner ($44.5 billion) and would be capable of sending enough power ashore to supply 10 million homes in Denmark.
