Finland’s Neste has sold its small network of retail fuel stations in Russia to Tatneft, an ambitious vertically integrated oil producer. Neste said it was giving up 75 filling stations and a fuel terminal in St. Petersburg as part of its strategic shift toward cleaner fuels, such as “renewable diesel” made from waste materials such as cooking oil. The company stressed that it has no intention of selling its business in Finland and the Baltic states, where it operates over 1,000 retail stations.
