BP has reportedly rejected a joint bid by Pakistani firms to buy its assets in the coun- try. Pakistan Petroleum Chief Executive and Managing Director Khalid Rahman reported- ly said the UK major turned down its joint offer with upstream state firm Oil and Gas Development Co. (OGDC). BP is looking to sell its Pakistani assets to raise money to pay for its devastating Macondo oil spill in the US Gulf. Dow Jones Newswires on Monday reported Khalid as saying the firm had learned “informally” that the bid had failed. BP Pakistan was unavailable for comment.
