Russia, Poland Finally Agree on Gas Deal

Russia and Poland have finally signed a package of documents that will boost Rus- sia's natural gas supplies to its neighbor by around 2 Bcm/yr while also ensuring the transit of Russian gas to Europe. Russia's Deputy Prime Minister in charge of energy, Igor Sechin, and his Polish coun- terpart, Waldemar Pawlak, signed amend- ments to intergovernmental agreements con- cerning Russian gas supply and transit in Warsaw on Friday. The ceremony was fol- lowed by the inking of gas supply and transit contract amendments between Russia's Gazprom and Poland's PGNiG.
