Petrobras Strikes in Tupi

Petrobras and partners have found light oil in the ninth well drilled in the ultra-deep BM-S-11 Santos Basin Block off Brazil. Portugal’s Galp Energia said late Friday that the contractor group — including Galp with a 10% interest, operator Petrobras with 65% and the UK’s BG on 25% — had concluded drilling at the so-called Tupi South West well, and reaffirmed previously estimated volumes of recoverable oil and gas in the presalt reservoirs of the Tupi area at 5 bil-lion-8 billion boe.
