Asian State Firms Eye Pechora LNG Plan

Korea Gas (Kogas) and China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) have joined fellow Asian state player Petrovietnam as a potential backer of the planned Pechora LNG scheme on Russia's Barents Sea. The two firms have signed a memoran- dum of understanding (MOU) to study the possibility of taking a stake and buying some of the output, privately owned LNG project developer CH-Oil & Gaz told an LNG conference in Singapore Wednesday (IOD Dec.4,p1).
