Canada's Suncor plans to bring its Ebla gas field in Syria on stream later this month, starting commercial production at around 2.3 MMcm/d (80 MMcf/d), Suncor executive Jon Ferrier said in Damascus. He added that output could be increased to 2.7 MMcm/d without upgrading facilities. Ebla was being developed by Petro-Canada before the company was taken over by Suncor last year.
