Canadian Oil Output Slips

Canadian oil production took an unex- pected hit in September, according to data released this week by Statistics Canada, the country's official data agency. Total output of conventional crude, syn- thetics and natural gas liquids averaged 3.253 million b/d, a drop of 178,000 b/d. However, some of the decline reflects sta- tistical revisions to past estimates. The statis- tics agency shifted some NGL production that had previously been counted in July in- to August, thus pushing up the August num- ber in the most recent data update.
