Qatar Boosts LNG Output

Qatar is now producing 62 million tons/yr of LNG and plans to reach its target of 77 million tons/yr later this year, energy minister Abdullah al-Attiyah confirmed Monday (IOD Jan.14,p6). Speaking at the World Future Energy Summit in Abu Dhabi, al-Attiyah said Qatar - the world's biggest LNG producer - is on schedule to add the remaining 15 million tons/yr by September.
