Mercuria Moves Into LNG

Global traders’ move into LNG trading continues apace, with the announcement from Geneva-based Mercuria Energy that Dan Masters and Andrew Helm have joined to begin trading in LNG (IOD Aug. 12,p3). The business division will be led by Masters. Masters and Helm both held senior trading positions with BP’s LNG business, with Helm in Houston and Masters in London. Mercuria head of trading and co-founder Daniel Jaeggi said, “The LNG business is an important growth area in the global energy business. This is a new significant business for Mercuria as it fits well into our existing portfolio of activities.”
