Medco Wins Libyan Rights

Indonesian upstream independent Medco Energi has taken over operatorship of the Area 47 Block in Libya from Canada's Verenex in a move that should underpin its production growth over the next decade (IOD Dec.5'08,p4). The transfer of ownership comes after Verenex was sold to the Libyan Investment Authority for US$317 million.
