Caltex Sees Profit Slide

Caltex Australia has given a bleak fore- cast for profits in the first half of this year, which it projects will be below ana- lysts’ expectations. The refiner expects adjusted net profit to drop to A$140 mil- lion-A$160 million (US$121 million- US$138 million), almost half last year’s A$298 million, mainly because of ex- change rate volatility.
