摘要

Iran has slashed its gasoline imports by more than 75% since US President Barack Obama approved a bill in early July call- ing for penalties to be levied against com- panies that supply or underwrite oil prod- uct shipments to the Islamic Republic. To make up shortfalls, Iran's oil min- istry has adopted an emergency plan to increase gasoline production by blend- ing petrochemical products such as methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) and benzenes into existing stocks.
