Shizuoka Gas Gets More LNG

Japanese gas distributor Shizuoka Gas has signed two short- to medium-term LNG supply contracts with Mitsubishi for a total of 3 million tons/yr. The first contract will start in the fiscal year that started Apr. 1, 2010 through 2013, while the other will start from next April through 2015. Shizuoka Gas said the additional volumes would help it meet demand from industrial and wholesale sectors. Earlier this year, Shizuoka Gas also signed two long-term supply deals with Tokyo Electric Power Corp. (Tepco) for 260,000 tons/yr of LNG and with Osaka Gas for 300,000 tons/yr.
