Gazprom’s Kyrgyz Business OK

Gazprom Neft, the oil arm of Russian state-controlled gas giant Gazprom, says its business in Kyrgyzstan has not been affected by political upheaval. Its deputy general di- rector for downstream, Anatoly Cherner, has been quoted as saying that Gazprom Neft’s Kyrgyz subsidiary, which owns 75 retail sta- tions in the former Soviet republic, emerged with minimal losses from the social unrest that led last week to the ouster of President Kurmanbek Bakiyev.
