Uganda Tax Battle Continues for Heritage

Reports that an estimated $400 million tax bill for Heritage Oil in Uganda could be reduced to end a dispute over the amount were flatly rejected by Ugandan fi- nance officials Thursday. The standoff is holding up closure of the $1.5 billion takeover of Heritage’s local interests by Anglo-Irish Tullow Oil.
