Crude and oil product prices continued to gain momentum Friday on a mix of both good and bad economic news. Escalating political tensions in Ecuador helped push prices higher although late reports suggested President Rafael Correa may have reasserted control. Year-to-year declines in oil production from the UK and Norway also led to supply worries.
