Graphical abstract

Reaction of copper(II) glutarate with pyrazole (Hpz) in different conditions, yields four different derivatives (1?4) based on the trinuclear triangular Cu3(μ3-OH)(μ-pz)3moiety, two of them being a 1D and a 3D (porous, 40% solvent accessible void space) CPs (3and4). Moreover, the 1D CP Cu(Glu)(Hpz)3(7) and the mononuclear Cu(HGlu)2(Hpz)4complex (6) were also obtained and structurally characterized.
