Renault Megane coupe - Not as good to drive as a Ford Puma, but cheaper, and still pretty

This is a car that I've already owned once, for a 1.6e Renault Megane coupe occupied my garage nine years ago when I needed reliable wheels. I bought the least uninteresting nearly new car I could afford at the time - it cost around ￡8500 - which was not enough to get me a better-mannered and cooler Ford Puma. My 11-month-old, banana yellow purchase provoked much derision from colleagues, who couldn't understand why I'd gone for something so uninteresting to drive. But the Renault was good to sit in, turned in nearly 40mpg and never gave any trouble. It got replaced soon after by an E30 BMW M3, which proceeded to give quite a lot of point-proving expensive trouble (though it was a hell of a lot of fun).
