Trendsetting small EV is back, and there's good news for prospective owners. The e-Up has been given a range boost and a price cut. A new drive battery has effectively doubled claimed range to 159 miles and, at the same time, the price of the car is almost ￡2000 cheaper. The new battery has added 15kg to the kerb weight but the e-Up's mechanical package is otherwise unchanged. Even weighing around 200kg kilos more than any of its range-mates, it's a pleasingly nippy drive and its handling isn't quite as severely penalised by that kerb weight as you'll find with other small EVs.
