INSIGHT:RCEP to affect polyolefin trade patterns in the mid-to long-term

SINGAPORE(ICIS)--The signing of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership(RCEP)agreement this week,the world's largest free trade deal among its 15 participating countries,may affect polyolefin trade patterns in the mid-to long-term.The RCEP talks,which began in November 2012,was initiated by the 10-member ASEAN and invited six dialogue partners,including China,Japan,South Korea,Australia,New Zealand and India,with a purpose of establishing a free trade agreement to reduce tariffs and non-tariff barriers.It covers more than 10 fields,involving small and medium-sized enterprises,investment,economic and technological cooperation,goods and service trade.India has not joined the deal at this point but is understood to retain the option to sign up.
