HOUSTON (ICIS)-The entire US polyethylene terephthalate (PET) chain, including the recycling sector, is considered an essential business during the pandemic time as foods, hand sanitizers and many cleaning supplies are packaged in this resin. In most cases, packaging is produced with a blend of virgin and recycled PET (R-PET), as brand owners have committed to increasing the use of recycled resin in their containers to reduce pollution in the environment.
