US butac outlook improving, June contract talks continue

HOUSTON (ICIS)--While US June butyl acetate (butac) contract-price talks have yielded mostly rollovers, so far, there is some guarded optimism about near-term demand. Upstream propylene, which continues to influence the following month's butac pricing, settled flat for May amid propylene demand described as flat to moderately better compared with mid-May. Butac demand in June also has been steady to marginally better, market sources said.
