Arkema looks to become pure specialty materials company by 2024

LONDON (ICIS)-Arkema plans to become a pure specialties player by 2024, according to CEO Thierry Le Henaff, as the France-based chemicals major moves to realign its operations and cut exposure to more commoditised markets. The company had previously targeted 80% of its sales from specialties by 2023 but came close to achieving that target in 2019, where 79% of revenues on a pro-forma basis were from higher-value chemicals.
